What to do

  • Do play nice.
We're a community of many types of people, who all have the right to feel comfortable and who may not think what you think, believe what you believe or see what you see. So, be polite and respectful in your interactions with other members.
  • Do upload content that you have created.
Respect the copyright of others. This means don't steal videos or snapshots that other people have shared and pass them off as your own.
  • Do enjoy the site!
See the world through others’ eyes, participate, find your muse, and expand your horizons!

What not to do

Here’s the deal: In most circumstances, we like to give second chances, so we’ll send you a warning if you step across any of the lines listed below. Subsequent violations can result in account termination without warning. Here are some common-sense rules that will help you steer clear of trouble:

  • Don't Cross the Line.
Are You Kidding, Inc. is not for pornography or sexually explicit content. If this describes your video, even if it’s a video of yourself, don’t post it on Are You Kidding, Inc. Also, be advised that we work closely with law enforcement and we report child exploitation. Please stay safe on Are You Kidding, Inc. Don’t post videos showing bad stuff like animal abuse, drug abuse, under-age drinking and smoking, or bomb making. Graphic or gratuitous violence is not allowed. If your video shows someone being physically hurt, attacked, or humiliated, do not post it.

Are You Kidding, Inc. is not a shock site. Don't post gross-out videos of accidents, dead bodies or similar things intended to shock or disgust.

We encourage free speech and defend everyone's right to express unpopular points of view. But we do not permit hate speech (speech which attacks or demeans a group based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, and sexual orientation/gender identity).

Things like predatory behavior, stalking, threats, harassment, intimidation, invading privacy, revealing other people's personal information, and inciting others to commit violent acts or to violate the Terms of Use are taken very seriously. Anyone caught doing these things may be permanently banned from Are You Kidding, Inc.

Everyone hates spam. Do not create misleading descriptions, tags, titles or thumbnails in order to increase views. It is not okay to post large amounts of untargeted, unwanted or repetitive content, including comments and private messages.
  • Don’t upload anything that isn't yours.
This includes other people's videos, snapshots and/or stuff you've collected from around the Internet. Accounts that consist primarily of such collections may be terminated at any time.
  • Don’t forget the children.
Take the opportunity to filter your content responsibly. If you would hesitate to show your videos or snapshots to a child, your mom, or Uncle Bob, that means it needs to be filtered. So, ask yourself that question as you upload your content. If you don’t, it’s likely that your account will be reviewed and terminated by Are You Kidding, Inc. staff.
  • Don’t show nudity.
Only content considered "safe" will be approved by Are You Kidding, Inc. staff. If we find that you've uploaded a video or snapshot that contains “restricted" content, we’ll remove the content, and send you an email. If we find you doing it again, we’ll terminate your account.
  • Don’t upload content that is illegal or prohibited.
If we find you doing that, your account will be deleted and we'll take appropriate action, which may include reporting you to the authorities.
  • Don’t be creepy.
You know the guy. Don't be that guy.

Here are some other things to keep in mind:

  • Other People (their content, their behavior)
You will see all sorts of things on Are You Kidding, Inc., some of which may offend you. If you are offended by a video/snapshot you can either click away or send an email to
info@areyoukidding.net with “Flag this Video/Snapshot” on the subject line of your email to submit it for review by Are You Kidding, Inc. staff and we will respond within 24-48 hours. If you think there is immediate cause for concern, you can report content and/or someone's behavior to Are You Kidding, Inc. staff via the “Report Abuse” link. You may not like everything you see. If you find that it violates our Terms of Use, then click the button that says "Flag" under the video you're watching to submit it for review by Are You Kidding, Inc. staff. If it doesn't, then consider just clicking on something else. Why waste time watching videos you do not like.

Copyright Infringement

Respect copyright. Only upload videos that you made or that you are authorized to use. This means don't upload videos you didn't make, or use content in your videos that someone else owns the copyright to, such as music tracks, snippets of copyright programs, or videos made by other users, without necessary authorizations.

We Enforce These Guidelines

Okay, this one is more about us than you. Are You Kidding, Inc. staff reviews flagged videos 24 hours a day, seven days a week to determine whether they violate our Community Guidelines. When they do, we remove them. Sometimes a video doesn't violate our Community Guidelines, but may not be appropriate for everyone. These videos may be age-restricted. Accounts are penalized for Community Guidelines violations and serious or repeated violations can lead to account termination. If your account is terminated, you won't be allowed to create any new accounts.
